World AIDS Campaign 2007

AIDS has become the world's worst disease, it's spread worldwide and it affects all continents, particularly Africa. When problems get global, it is also needed a global effort to reduce consequences.

From my particular situation, some years ago my next-door neighbor died from AIDS, she was a girl aged 25 called Silvia. I knew her full of life and projects, and I saw her struggling just to talk a few words, to walk a few steps, too. Hard to swallow.
Today, between 30 and 36 million people are dealing with AIDS. In 2007, around 2 million people got infected and 2 more died from AIDS. You can find some other facts in this document.
